Tuberous breasts are also referred to as tubular breasts or constricted breasts. It affects the shape, size and symmetry of the breasts and can have a deep impact on self image.
While tubular breasts may be deficient in size, they are not simply “small breasts”.
The features of the tuberous breast deformity may include the charachteristics listed below. Women may have one, several or all of these.

| • | A narrow base of the breast, which can affect the lower part of the breast or the entire breast |
| • | Small breast size |
| • | Breast skin deficiency |
| • | A raised the inframammary fold (the crease beneath the breast) |
| • | Areolar puffiness or bulging (the area around the nipples) |
